That was fun. Let’s do it again!

“Creativity is intelligence having fun.” ~Albert Einstein

What are you doing that makes you happy?  Look at the past month and ask yourself what you were doing when you were  happiest, when you felt the most alive.  Just think about it for a few seconds.  Was it when you were eating some sweet ice-cold watermelon while you watched the kids splash around?  Was it when you were laughing with a friend over something only the two of you would find hilarious?    Was it when you were sitting by yourself reading a book that was so good you didn’t it want to end?  Was it when you were walking in the woods with your dog?  Was it when you were holding your baby?  Was it when you were painting or writing or running or swimming or sitting looking out at the magnificent wonder of nature?  Whatever is was, do it again.  And, again.

Doing what we love and feeling the wonderful emotions of joy and appreciation will cause a spectacular domino of fun and happiness to fill our life.   A waterfall of joy pours over you.  A wave of fun carries you.  A road of abundance is laid before you.  In feeling happy, contented, and completely fulfilled we invite more happiness, contentment and fulfillment into our perfect life.

images-7

We are rewarded for accepting rewards.  We get what we deserve.  We get a life that is perfect for us.  Do what you love.  Wash, rinse, repeat.  Often.  And when, in your perfect life, you notice something that is making you feel good, remember it, do it again.  When in your life you find yourself not so happy, remember that time and smile and the feelings will start, more happy memories will surface for you to enjoy, and the universe will respond.  We can always turn our frown upside down with just a few thoughts and memories.  Use you bongo for good thoughts and feelings.  Love yourself.

Some happy affirmations:

  • I open my heart to gifts from God.
  • I deserve a life of abundance.
  • I monitor my thoughts and beliefs and I only choose good ones.
  • My life is filled with pleasant surprises.
  • I have a lot of fun.
  • I laugh a lot.
  • I have good friends.
  • I’m a very lucky person.

Close your eyes and think of something really fun from your childhood.   Imagine you are a child now, what would you do?  Fun thoughts, huh!

Don’t Do What You Hate!!!

“The only real valuable thing is intuition.” – Albert Einstein

I’ve decided that I’m going to use my intuition to write this post. I have no idea what I’m going to write about, but I’m going to have faith that Albert was right about intuition and that the perfect topic will come to me as I keep writing. I’m hoping for that wonderful feeling of Satori to kick in. Satori is a Japanese word and it describes what happens when you are taken over by a creative project and time is seemingly irrelevant. You are acting out of time and out of ego, simply channeling the creative force of who you truly are, the Divine Creator!

images-16
So, today I keep thinking of the Gospel of Thomas. You remember Doubting Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciples. He’s the one who asked for proof that Jesus came back, that’s another story which I kinda doubt happened, the way it’s presented anyway Thomas admitted that he really didn’t have much of a clue as to what Jesus was trying to say with his parables and metaphors so he decided rather than trying to interpret Jesus’ words or tell Jesus’ story he would simply write what Jesus said and let people make up their own minds.

images-16
Of course, we don’t get the opportunity to read Thomas since he wasn’t included in the New Testament. Why the Nicene Council of the Holy Roman Church decided to edit the gospels is anyone’s guess? Mine is that they chose the gospels which worked best for their agenda to control the Roman Empire, but I digress, the perk of following intuition!
So Thomas, in his humble innocence, simply dictated Jesus’ words. You can find them all online, but the one that really hit  me, WACK, right in the face was what Jesus said when asked what people should do.  Jesus said, “…don’t do what you hate…”
Wow, if there are any words to live by, strangely written in the negative, but for a good reason, it is those five words.

images-16
DON’T DO WHAT YOU HATE!!!!!!  This seems simple enough, but how many people kill their spirit by doing what they hate, for their whole lifetime?  They do it out of responsiblity often enough.  They have children to raise and send to school, children whom they don’t see enough because they work too much, bills to pay, plastic toys to buy which they don’t get to use because they work too much, huge mortgages to pay on houses they spend little time in because they work too much, big cars to pay for to drive to and from those jobs.  These words come to mind.  Futile. Striving. Endlessness. Broken. Exhaustion. Depression. Isolation.
Is this any way to live? DON’T DO WHAT YOU HATE!
Ah, but I have to pay for all this stuff.  Let me tell you something, Sir!  I lost my job about 8 months ago, hence the blog, and I was making half the money I made working.  I stopped buying what I call plastic toys, which is all the unnecessary crap we buy, and I managed to make my mortgage, make my car payments, pay off my credit cards, eat healthy organic food, and did this for six months.

images-16
Here’s the kicker.  I can’t go back to my old job.  It was killing my spirit.  So I am going to have faith that the universe will provide my perfect life for me. (Don’t be surprised if I add a donate button on the side, someone has to subsidize these posts!)  I am not going to live in fear.  Do I want to teach my children that they must do a job they hate for the rest of their lives so that they can buy all the conveniences they wouldn’t need if they had more time, or if they did what they loved and had less money, but lived simply?  Sometimes intuition leads to jumbled sentences, but you get the drift.
You are the teacher of the next generation. Do you believe that the universe is friendly?  Do you believe the universe conspires to make your dreams come true?  Prove it!  DON’T DO WHAT YOU HATE.  IT WILL KILL YOUR SPIRIT!

images-16

This experiment in intuition seemed to work, the time passed in an instant, and some sense was even made (I hope).  Now it’s your turn to follow your intuition and do what you love. Follow your dreams in faith. Know that you deserve to be happy. You are a perfectly made you with your own special desires and talents.  Follow your purpose.  Follow your DNA!  It was made with you in mind!  Yes, perfectly you.  Don’t live a perfect life, live your perfect life.

Your perfect affirmations:

  • I deserve to live a life which fills my soul with joy and purpose.
  • I happily pursue my dreams with the faith that God wants me to be happy.
  • I have enough stuff.
  • I am enough.
  • My children are happier with my time than with my money.
  • I love my life.
  • I live my perfect life.

Close your eyes.  In your mind, take a walk in the woods and when you come to a clearing you will see yourself doing what you love to do.  Enjoy it.  Now make it happen

Why it’s so fabulous to be poor and depressed.

“Wisdom is not a product of schooling, but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.”  ~Albert Einstein

Yes, it is fabulous to be poor and depressed.  It’s great to be unemployed, unhealthy, undesirable, unloved, misunderstood,  or just plain lost.  If you were rich, beautiful, healthy, and comfortable, if you had everything that you desired then why would you want to change?  You wouldn’t.  Oh no, you’d think that all of this stuff was the cat’s pajama’s and you would feel no desire to rock the boat.  But, all of our boats need to be rocked.  We’re not here for the easy ride, we who have struggled.  We are here for the roller coaster, the ups and downs, the overs and unders, the roundabouts.  We don’t want a straight path to Easy Street.  Much too boring for us adventurous types.  We don’t want things handed to us on a silver platter, we weren’t born with a silver spoon.  If we had wanted that particular life, we would have ordered that particular life.  No, no, no.  That wouldn’t do for us.  We wanted to make some major changes in this lifetime.  We wanted to learn many, many hard lessons to spur us on to higher realms of spiritual insight.  We wanted SPIRITUAL GROWTH!  So we ordered the Twists of Terror ride, the Death and Destruction ride, the Please Make it Stop ride.  Yes, we are not too bright, but we make up for it in persistence, committment, and passion.  We want to know the truth.

images-5

The Truth will set us free!!!

Yes, the Truth.  But, if you want to hear what that is again, and maybe this time it will stick (I’m still waiting for that to happen), here it is.  The truth is that you are the one that has made your life and only your own beliefs can change it.  Only when you truly believe that you are one with the Creative Force of the universe and able to manifest everything by being who you are, until you believe that, then the crazy ride continues.

Unlike popular belief, and my previous misguided notions, you don’t have to visualize every aspect of your life to get it.  The Creative All, this Energy of Pure Love, knows what your perfect path to happiness is.  All you have to do is believe and work towards what you think you want.  Oh, and it must be something that doesn’t hurt anyone else, it must be approached with love, and it must be what you love to do.  Do not do what you hate!!!   Never, never, never!!!  This is so very important.  If you are doing what you hate you are out of sync with the Pure Energy of Love!

Unknown-4

Yay for happiness!

If you feel irritated, angry, frustrated, or uneasy in any way when you are doing something then it’s not what you should be doing.  But, you can fill mundane occupations with love.  Like cooking supper.  I may not feel really excited about it, but I can change my thinking and infuse it with love.  I can use chopping vegetables as a meditative exercise.  I can think of the love I have for my family as I drop the veggies in the pot of soup.  I can appreciate what I have as I clean the house.  (okay, I’ve gone too far), but you know what I mean.  There are things that need to be done.  Do them with love, do them in a mindful way.  Know that you are heading in the right direction.

All in all,be thankful that we are such screwed up flawed individuals on our way to perfection!  Isn’t it fabulous to be poor and depressed?  It’s a study in the perfect motivation to grow spiritually.  Change is good.

Some perfect affirmations:

  • All of my “problems” lead me to greatness.
  • My life is the result of my beliefs.
  • I believe that the Perfect Life Force of the universe directs me to happiness.
  • I do everything with love.
  • I have complete faith that the universe is my friend and conspiring with me to perfect my life of health and  happiness.

Close your eyes and know that God loves you unconditionally and all you have to do is ask.  Then ask.

Interpreting Your Life

“The only real valuable thing is intuition.” ~Albert Einstein

In a previous post I talked a little bit about symbols in dreams.  The same archetypes and symbols we use to interpret dreams are present during our waking hours.  Our lives can be interpreted just as our dreams can.  AFter all, they’re both illusions!

images

Let’s start with some basics.  For instance our cars.  Our cars represent our path in life.  When we have a problem with our car we can use that to find out what the issue is in our life with which we must deal.

For instance, if your car runs out of gas, that’s fairly easy to interpret.  We use that expression to describe people already.  I ran out of gas simply means you overextended your physical energy.  You probably need to get some more sleep or use a better, healthier fuel for your body.  Perhaps you’re living on junk food or other unhealthy food and you should be using premium fuel for your body.  On the next level it may mean you are not feeding yourself emotionally or intellectually.  On the an even higher level it may mean you are not fueling your spiritual growth.  Can you see how these symbols work on different levels depending on where you are in life or just depending on what area of your life it applies?  Your intuition will tell you what the level is.

When the brakes in your car are failing then perhaps you are going to fast in some area of your life and need to apply the brakes.  Did you meet someone and are running headlong into a relationship? Perhaps you should slow down.  Reevaluate.  You need to stop and assess the area in your life to which it applies.  Put on the brakes and slow down.

images-8

Windshield wipers not working well?  Windshields cracked or broken.  Any type of window represents your sight, what you see, and how you see it.  Again, this applies to your physical sight as well as emotional, intellectual, and spiritual sight.  How are you looking at things? Is your vision of what is real is cracked, distorted, and unhealthy.  Are you blinding yourself to something in your life that you don’t want to see?  Are you seeing things without assuming, without prejudice, without anger.  Try to be as honest with yourself as you can be and make sure you see people and events in your life clearly, with good perspective.  Try to see things in their best light, but at the very least don’t make assumptions.

Electrical system out of wack?  Are you putting your energy into the wrong area of your life?  Prioritize.

Got rear-ended by another driver?  Do you need to give yourself a push, motivate yourself, do something you’ve been putting off, because you just got a kick in the butt.

Rear ended someone else?  You’re not seeing what is right in front of you.  You need to reassess so that you don’t end up crashing and burning.  Or, alternately, are you pushing yourself or someone else in a path that is not the right one?  Are you following your authentic life or will you come to another dead-end?  You can use your car to help understand your life.  If you find you are making wrong turns and getting lost frequently then maybe you need to reassess the direction your life is going in because you may be headed the wrong way.

Think of other ways the car and the roads you drive may represent your life.  Do you keep hitting potholes?  Is your car overheating?   Does the heater work?  Does the air conditioning work?

Your home represents you.  The basement is below the living area.  It represents the subconscious.  Is your basement full of junk?  If it is, you have issues in your subconscious to deal with, probably long held beliefs that are erroneous.  Examine your beliefs and make sure they align with your consciousness.  And clean out your basement in real life as a symbol of your commitment to growth.

The attic is at the top of the house.  It represents your mind.  Is the attic full of clutter?   Perhaps your mind is always racing and you need to practice stillness and be more mindful of your thoughts.  Declutter your thinking.  You tend to replay old thoughts and patterns in your mind.  YOu may hold on to petty injustices and resentments.  Try meditating to still your mind.   Forgive.  And empty your attic.

Unknown-1

The kitchen is often called the heart of the home.  Is it a place in which you want to spend time?  If it is big enough, do people congregate there or do you prefer them to be in the living areas.  If you do then perhaps you need to open your heart more and let people in. You may not be letting them get close.  Be more emotionally intimate, allow yourself to be vulnerable and open to love and life.  Invite people into your kitchen and your heart.

Is your living room a place that you sit and watch TV or a place that you share in community with family or friends?  If it’s TV, then perhaps you are escaping from life and avoiding your dreams and fears.  Don’t escape from life in your living room.    Make your living room a place of community and growth.

Is your bedroom a mess?  The bedroom would represent the private you, or if in relationship, it may represent the relationship.  If it is cluttered and messy, it may be a sign that you may not take the time to nurture yourself or that you don’t feel you are worth the effort.  Or that you are not giving your relationship the attention it deserves.  Make your bedroom a sanctuary, so that you will nurture yourself and so that your relationship will be a place of trust and tranquility.  Throw in some passion, too.

Is your front yard full of weeds or a place of beauty?  The front yard often represents your future.  If it is full of weeds it is a sign that you may feel hopeless about your future.  If it’s a place of beauty; you may be putting on a good face and want everyone to think that your life is wonderful and you have it all together.  Is it a false facade to prevent people from seeing the real you, because you feel that the real you is not worth seeing?  This is especially true if the inside of your house is kind of a mess.  Conversely it may mean that you feel good about your future and yourself.

Is you backyard a mess or well done?  The back yard represents your past.  Have you cleaned up the old beliefs and indoctrination?  Have you dealt with past hurts and anger?  If your back yard is in good shape than your dealings with your past probably are, too.

From seeing these examples of how things in your life represent your journey you can extrapolate from here and find other ways in which the universe is trying to open your eyes to promote your growth and happiness.  I believe in universal symbols, archetypes, such as the warrior, the Goddess, the lion, but we also have cultural and personal symbols.  I think that in China an elephant is considered a symbol of wisdom, while in America the owl signifies wisdom.  On a personal level you have your own symbols.  Some might see the color green as representing money while others may think gold symbolizes wealth.  Try to see if you can identify any of your personal symbols as you explore this tool.

What are some of the symbols in these examples that ring true for you?  Tell us about some of your experiences and how you recognized what they meant in your life and beliefs.   Or after reading this you may look back on events and say. “Aha!  That’s what that meant!”  Don’t expect to wake up from this dream for a while.  The good thing is you’re not likely to forget it.

Some symbolic affirmations:

  • My intuition helps me recognize the symbols in my life.
  • I use the symbols the universe sends me to learn and grow.
  • My physical life represents my spiritual growth.  I will be aware of the messages given to me.
  • I use symbols in my surroundings to help me on my path.

Imagine that your life is a dream and interpret it.

Don’t eat the Apple!!!

-“No one can read the Gospels without feeling the actual presence of Jesus.  His personality pulsates in every word.  No myth is filled with such life.”  ~Albert Einstein

Okay, let’s talk about Jesus again.  If you’ve been reading my posts you know I’m talking about Jesus as the man who transcended the illusion of a physical world in his lifetime.  I’m talking about the man who knew that the story of Adam and Eve eating the apple from the Tree of Knowledge was sorely misinterpreted.  He knew the real meaning of the story is that the apple represents knowledge received in the physical world.  The knowledge given by the “apple,” in this case, is that the physical world is reality.  That’s all the apple represented, belief in a physical reality, a belief in the data of the physical world.  Adam and Eve were banished from heaven, heaven being the truth that physical reality is an illusion and that we are actually spiritual beings.  And, so, they were banished from the state of grace, from knowing who they truly were.  Their banishment was self-imposed.  Once they believed that the physical world was the only reality, they forgot that they were unlimited divine beings.  Knowledge, in this sense, is a human understanding of life.  Adam and Eve gave up their divinity by believing in the physical as real.  Of course God didn’t kick them out.  They simply erroneously believed.  Heaven is knowing that only love is real and all else is illusory.  We get knowledge from the physical world, laws such as the law of gravity and the laws of motion.  The only “truth” that many believe is what our five senses can tell us.  From the spiritual world we know all, we are omniscient, we are all-powerful and all creative.  We are the pure energy of love.  The spiritual world shows us that we are unlimited and all present.  We cannot get this knowing from the physical world.  All we can get from the physical world is facts and data.  That is why it is so important to spend time in spirit.  That is what Jesus was trying to tell us.

images-8

In spirit we begin to realize just how amazing and connected we are to All, and I mean All, the everything, everyone kind of All.  We begin to know of our divinity and we find out that we are boundless love.  Jesus knew that.  He realized that this physical reality is just a collective holograph, a theory that quantum physicists are just now putting forward.  Professor, you had nothing over Jesus.  Imagine a being so advanced that he was able to “divine” all of this.  And he shared it with us.  He was love.  He could only heal people who believed that he was divine love.  When we can see him clearly, without all the misinterpretations that have been presented as his message, then we can learn from his life.

I’m repeating myself here, but Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is within.”  You are God.  You are a part of the divine.  You are the pure energy of love which is everywhere and infinite.  You were created in the “image of God.”   There is no time and space.  There is only the “always was and always will be.”  There is only the omnipresent and omniscient.  Sounds like God and is also the definition of energy.  As God cannot be destroyed neither can energy.  Neither can you.  As God is everywhere at all times, so is energy.  So are you.  As God makes up infinity, so does energy.  So do you.

images-10

It has already been shown that all matter is simply dense, organized energy, so surely you can at least be open to the idea that you are a part of the All.  Matter is energy.  You are matter, therefore…  When we all finally realize our divinity the world will no longer be a place of competition and fear of lack.  We will all realize our connectedness and that we are all a unique and integral part of pure love and peace.  We are as important as Jesus was in bringing the truth to light.

Through your consciousness, indistinguishable from the All, you bring that light into the world.  That’s how important you are.  We cannot do this individually.  We must all be brought into the truth.  The truth will, literally, set us free.  So, the next time you think about meditating to raise your consciousness, remember that you will be doing the world a service by opening to spirit.  The more people who open to spirit the more our Collective Consciousness will be raised and then more people will begin to really “know” the divine.

Jesus is a part of you.  His energy, also called, “Christ Consciousness” is what will lead you to the divine.  I’m not saying the only way to God is through belief that Jesus was his son.  I don’t think Jesus was saying that.  When he said that the only way to heaven “is through me,” I believe he was using “me” as his term for pure consciousness.  Also called the “I am”

“I am” is a good meditation mantra.  “I am” is a powerful tool of transformation. I am.  Jesus knew the I am.  He is the I am.  He taught the I am.  All that we are is what Jesus taught us.  He is not the only being who lived on earth that transcended the illusion.  There are those recorded in history like Jesus, the Buddha, and others, but many more who quietly transcended or had few followers.  Jesus and Buddha brought their light to many more and have changed many lives.  Most  humans have been so entrenched in the physical world that few have understood or listened.  He who has ears, listen was a refrain of Jesus.  In areas of the world where spirituality is given more importance than consuming and conquering there have been many more trancendants, places like India and parts of Asia.  There have been many “masters” from these areas because their culture embraces the idea of spiritual transcendence, but more importantly they embrace living a life focused on spiritual loving kindness.  People like Lao Tsu who wrote the I Ching.  Our culture is changing and there is a huge spiritual movement of unprecedented numbers.  Sixty years ago meditation wasn’t even in most people’s vocabulary, let alone a part of their lives and yet, now, it is a daily practice for many in the west.

images-5

We are a growing number.  People are dissatisfied with the physical reality.  There can be no true and lasting joy in the physical reality.  Only by knowing who we are can we ever truly be self-realized and eternally happy.  So, thank you, Jesus and all of you other masters, for that.  We’re working on it.

Some transcendental affirmations:

  • I am.
  • I am love.
  • I am peace.
  • I am divine.
  • I am prosperous.
  • I am generous.
  • I am perfect.

Imagine you get to interview Jesus or Buddha or any master for a morning news show.  Ask them some good questions.

Forget about pills. Get over here and give me a hug!

“Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.” ~Albert Einstein

Unless it’s from your creepy, sweaty Uncle Buttkiss, hugs have no down side.  Hugs are warm, joyful, melting, expressions of love and happiness.  We have all known that for quite a while and science is finally catching up.  According to scientists at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, hugging for twenty seconds, along with hand holding for ten minutes with your partner, reduces stress levels.  Indicators such as blood pressure and heart rate were used against a control group that did not hug or hold hands.  You don’t have to hug with a partner; hugging a friend or even a massage has the same effect, it’s the magic of human touch.

images-8

We humans have a complex system of stress relief.  Just under our skin are teeny, tiny little discs called Pacinian corpuscles.   These little transmitters are linked to our vagus nervous system.  They initiate the response the body has to touch from another human.  We start to produce oxytocin which is the bonding hormone.  It makes us feel affection and an emotional connection.  It is the hormone that mothers produce during birth so that they forget all about the pain of labor and simply fall in love with their babies.  It has a calming effect on men, making them more affectionate and more likely to be monogamous.  Increased hugs would equate with increased faithfulness and fidelity!  Kissing and hand holding work the same way.

images-12

Hugs slow the release of cortisol which is the stress drug.  It’s the hormone that causes anxiety and even weight gain.  Hugging will keep you slim.  Hugging will keep you relaxed.  Hugging can replace antidepressants!   When we hug dopamine is released.  Dopamine levels play a huge part in depression and are also linked to Parkinson’s Disease.  Dopamine helps keep us motivated and feeling good and positive.  It’s the feel good drug!  I like Dopamine!

images-14

Touch makes all the difference in your life.  Babies who do not get the benefit of touch do not thrive.  The effects of neglect on the brain are the same as those of physical abuse.  It’s amazing how much we benefit from, and even need, physical expressions of love through hugs, cuddling, hand-holding, and kissing.  Couples who only kiss when they make love are more stressed than those who spontaneously kiss during the day.   It releases endorphins, another feel good hormone.  It helps to relax you and you can forget about your problems. A kiss is a mini-vacation!

images-11

Hugs give us a sence of self-worth and self-love.  This is especially true for children.  If our parents are very cuddly with us we do much better.  These physical demonstrations of love we receive as children imprint on us and are carried through our life.  Whenever we hug we have the feeling of love we received from being hugged and cuddled as a child and baby.  If your parents weren’t all huggy and cuddly you can still start being more affectionate now.

images-5

It’s hard to start hugging when you came from a family that didn’t hug or physically demonstrate love for each other.  But, you can do it.  Start with short hugs.  Talk with your siblings about the fact that you grew up with out many displays of affection, but that you’d like to change that.  They probably feel the same way.  Tell them you want to hug more.  Then hug!  Start a habit of hugging every time you see each other.  Talk about the twenty second hug rule with your friends and family!  They’ll love it, believe me!

images-13

Raise your children with hugs and cuddling and lots of physical expressions of love.  It helps them love themselves and deal with stress far better.  Hugs are practically the only prescription you need for a healthy life.  Okay, eat well and exercise, too, but hug, hug, hug!

Unknown-2

We get our sense of connectedness with others through physical affection.  Our energies connect as well as all the chemical reactions we enjoy from touch.  We are all one and hugging reminds us that we are part of this greater whole.   If you can do it without being creepy, touch people.  Connect with people.  In this day and age where people are afraid they will be held liable for a hug it is often tough.  Schools don’t allow children to hug each other.  Even five-year olds are punished for hugging their friends.  This is ridiculous!  Hug!!!  Encourage your children to show how they feel.  Encourage them to hug each other and to hug you and their extended family.  Start a legacy of hugs!

Unknown-3

I’ll leave you with the greatest hug master of our era.   Please check out this short three-minute video because there’s another great thing about hugs, watching others hugs has many of the same benefits as if you were doing the hugging!   When we see acts of kindness and love our bodies release the same chemicals as if we were a giver or recipient of the love!  That’s how powerful love is!

images-5

Go out there and love.  Start your own free hugs campaign!   Get over here and give me a hug!

Some huggable affirmations:

  • I express the love I feel for people through words and hugs.
  • I find it easy to show people through physical affection how I feel about them
  • I hug every day.
  • My friends and family and I hug when we greet each other and say Good-Bye and just for no reason at all.
  • Hugs are wonderful and I enjoy them.

As you are on your way to visit a friend or family member, imagine that when you get there you give them a great big hug.  Doesn’t that feel great.  Now do it.

images-10

Now, imagine a world where everyone got many good long warm hugs everyday.  No hugs, no peace.  Know hugs, know peace.  Okay, so it doesn’t make perfect sense, but you know what I mean!

You can’t put a gift into a closed box.

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” ~Albert Einstein

We all try to be as open minded as possible.  It’s true.  Even those people who seem very closed are doing their best.  I think, though, that to a degree we are all in a state of denial about our open mindedness.  We say we are, but when some ideology comes along that is foreign and doesn’t fit in with our preconceptions we often don’t even give it a chance.  I’ve been guilty of dismissing new (to me) ideas out of hand, sometimes I wasn’t even aware that it was because my belief system didn’t allow the new concept.  The new idea, if I gave myself the time to explore it, may have invalidated my beliefs and then who would I be?

When I was a child I was raised as a Catholic.  Very strict dogma.  You have to be Catholic to go to heaven (after all it was the original church of Christ?).  You can’t even set foot in another church.  That would be a sin.  THe otheres will go to hell.  You must have complete faith in God.  The trouble was that even as a young child the God of the Catholic church, the Old Testatment version, did not seem like the nicest person to me.  He smote people.  He sent people to hell.  I have loved people who would be in hell right now if that was true.  He tested people like Abraham and almost made him sacrifice his own son to prove to Him that he would obey.(Genesis 22).  Can you imagine the anguish a father would go through if God told him to kill the son that he loved to prove a point?  What kind of God does that?  The Bible is an onslaught of God’s vengeance, temper tantrums, and spite.  He destroyed whole cities, whole worlds, and threatened everyone with his power.  He did not lead with love, but with force and fear, judgment and threats.  This God was very scary.  No, even as a child I knew that I was nicer than that God.  I loved Jesus though.  Jesus told us to love everyone.  So, at the very least, I didn’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

Jesus informed people of the New Covenant.  H esaid this to help people understand that the God of the Old Testament no longer existed.  he told his disciples to forget everything they had learned before he came.  God, he told them, now wanted us all to live in love.  Jesus told us to turn the other cheek.  To love no matter what.  He told us to love one another as we loved ourselves.  He told us not to judge or use power and violence.  He told us to forgive infinitely.

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” (John 4:18-19)

Jesus basically said that the old God was not real.  He told his disciples to forget everything they had been told about God.  The old God was all about the fear.  The old God was made in the image of humans.  Human fears and guilt and greed for power created the old God.  The new God of Jesus is asking us to open our hearts to love.  The new God is within and asks us to see our true selves.

“For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye?  Do not even the publicans the same?” (Matthew 5:44–46)

This is one of my favorite quotes from Jesus.  He is saying that it is easy for us to love our children and our friends.   He says even the tax collectors love their friends and family.  (no offense to tax collectors today)  It is the true indicator that you are love if you love your enemies or those from whom you can receive no value or have no expectations of return.  I still love Jesus, but I don’t hear his words in the way that they were interpreted by the church.  I hear them with my intuition.  I hear them with the love in which he intended them.  He continually tells us that we are God.  We are love.  We are heaven.  “On earth as it is in heaven,” is like saying, “In matter as it is in energy.”  Energy is love.  We are made of energy.  He calls us our Father’s children, or the children of God.  He wants us to accept our inheritance which is to be love.

“But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” (Matthew 5:43-46)

I’m so glad I questioned my Catholic upbringing.  I’m not trying to pick on the Catholic church.  I use it as an example because I lived it.  If I had been raised in another religion I would have used that as my example.  It is not about Catholicism, but about opening your belief system.  I am also glad that I went beyond just dismissing it, but followed with the question, “If that is not true, what is true?”

Almost every religion teaches the same dogma, just in different words.  The level at which most people interpret it (because that is what they were taught by their religious leaders) is not the level at which it was intended by the original messengers.  As long as a belief limits our ability to receive new ideas and concepts, it limits our ability to receive the rewards of new beliefs and thoughts.  Just as we can’t accept a new gift with closed hands, we can’t acccept a spiritual gift with a closed mind.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” (John 4:18)

Fear is what keeps us controlled by our old beliefs.  We cling to them as though they are our identity, when, in fact, they keep us from our identity.  We cling to our Ego’s beliefs only because they are so familiar.   If we think with love we will know what is true.  If we come from love, there will be no fear and our minds will open to the divinity of our souls.  Open up your heart  and mind to receive all the gifts you have waiting within yourself.

Open to these affirmations”

  • I dwell in love.
  • I am open to the wonders of my soul.
  • The kingdom of God is within.
  • I am fully loved.
  • All good things come to me.
  • I am open to gifts from God.

Close your eyes.  Imagine that you walk into a room and on a table is a beautifully wrapped gift.  Walk over and open the gift.  What is inside?

Imagine a God that only loves.  There is no other act or thought or feeling, but love.  God is love.  You are love.

“The life of the individual has meaning only insofar as it aids in making the life of every living thing nobler and more beautiful.” ~Albert Einstein

I recently watched a video in which the speaker repeatedly attacked “new age” spirituality as a religion and a tool of the devil.  I made myself watch quite a bit of it because he said one or two interesting things.  His anger was definitely a turn-off, but I didn’t want to throw the baby out with the bathwater as I have a tendency to do that and must patrol my thoughts and actions to prevent it.  I kept watching.

coconut

So, what did I glean from his lecture?  What are the speaker’s big issues with New Age Spirituality?  His biggest issue is that he believes, what he calls New Age Religion, preaches apathy, laziness, selfishness, and egoism.  He believes it falls heavily to the feminine and is not balanced with the masculine.  In this instance the feminine would be passivity, nurturing, and intuition.  It is true that intuition without follow through is useless.  Why be aware of what to do and not do it?  It is true that nurturing yourself or anyone without fostering independence is not a good thing.  It is true that compassion helps no one unless it is acted upon.

Are all New Agers passive, self nurturing, egoists?  No.  Is it okay to simply meditate and have that be your contribution to world peace?  Yes, if that is your calling.  Here’s the question that came to my mind, though.  If we are here in this physical body, living in this physical world, an illusion though it may be, aren’t we obligated to make it a better place and to help end suffering?  To do that, don’t we have to be engaged in this physcial world?  Not necessarily, but I think for the most part the answer is yes; we do have a responsibility to make the world a better place and to do that usually requires physical action.  Once you’re a pickle you can never be a cucumber again.    Do we have to be Mother Theresa or Mahatma Ghandi?  That would be nice, but alot of us already have a life carved out and that wouldn’t work.  What can we do?  We can pick a cause.  We can choose one thing for which we feel passion and enthusiasm and work towards that goal.  Whether it is the environment, education, animal welfare, politics, food for all, you name it; you can get involved and help end the suffering.

So, putting my money where my mouth is;  today I went and dropped off some literature on water flouridation for the members of my town’s Board of Health.  It is not my number one cause but, I am strongly opposed to water flouridation and it is an area in which I felt I could make a difference locally.  (Here is a link about water flouridation which includes information from the senior scientist at the EPA.    The documentary is called Flouridegate.  There are length options on this link.  I would recommend the hour version.)   Over the past few days I have compiled articles and information on water flouridation with referenced studies.  I made a packet and dropped it off at the Board of Health office and asked to be put on the agenda for the next meeting.  I included the online link in the information packet.  Next month I will be addressing the board regarding my concerns and hopefully, they will have reviewed the research I left with them.

I am trying to be balanced in my masculine and feminine sides.  I could have simply imagined a world free of flouridation, but it’s a physical world and physical steps must be taken.  If I don’t take them, who will?

I talk a lot about being love and I do believe that it is more important than anything else, because if we don’t raise the vibration of the Collective Consciousness then no one will be open to our actions for peace, love, and justice.  We can do both.  We can be balanced in our intuition, compassion, still, nurturing side and our action oriented, get things done side.  We don’t need to choose.  We can make a difference.

It’s the same with our personal life.  We can quietly listen to our intuition and then take action when we hear the voice of our soul directing us.  If we haves dreams and desires we must take action.  If it’s a relationsip we want, we can imagine the perfect one for us, but we won’t meet anyone locked in our home.  We need to get out there and give ourselves opportunites to meet him or her.  If it’s a cetain career we envision then we need to take steps forward.  These steps will lead to more steps.  We don’t need to be paralyzed because we can’t see the whole process.  Just ask what you need to do next.

So, all you New Agers, me included, prove this guy wrong.  Go out there and make a difference.  He seems to think all we do is sit in Lotus positon and chant, “Om.”  I know we do so much more.  He’s throwing out the baby with the bathwater.  We don’t do that.  We do what we can to make a better life and a better world.

Some action packed affirmations:

  • I take action to reach my goals.
  • I use the direction of my intuition to lead my actions.
  • I take action and move forward whether or not I know the result.
  • I keep my body healthy through proper nutrtion and exercise.
  • I act for equality, justice, peace, and love.
  • I act with kindness to all beings.

Choose a cause and do one thing to help today, even if it is just educating someone, then take more action this week.  We can change the world.

If you would like to start your activism by ending water flouridation please check out the Flouride Action Network.  Very interesting stuff.  And I really do brush my teeth with coconut oil and baking soda.  No flouride there!  Here’s a link if you’d like to do the same.

I am so entitled!

“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or objects.” ~Albert Einstein

The word entitlement has gotten a really bad reputation.  I think it’s because people generally equate it with the idea that the person who feels entitled thinks that they deserve something more than someone else.  It has a weight of arrogance and selfishness to it.  What would happen if we all realized that we are entitled?  Not that we deserve more than others, but that we all, every one of us, deserve to live a happy and fulfilling life.  Imagine a world where everyone knew that they could manifest their dreams.  And that they deserved to realize their desires.  That is our true entitlement.

All of our dreams are so different, all of our dreams are so individual and unique.  Imagine how happy everyone would be living their soul’s desire.  The happiness and enthusiasm would be electric.  The joy and creativity of our passions would raise us to a place where we understood love.

The only reason we aren’t there right now is that we don’t understand love.  Love is the song of the soul being expressed.  Love is the expression of your creativity.  Love brings happiness.  When we love our soul we listen to what it needs.  My soul asks that I express myself through writing, teaching, and other creative pursuits.  Some people’s souls express through gardening.  Some people’s souls express through healing.  Through bicycling.  Through cooking nurturing meals for others.  Through working on cars.  Through entertaining.  Through scientific research in the field of marine biology.  Through spiritual pursuits.  Through building a suspension bridge.  Through designing fabric.  Through nurturing children.  Through studying the Talmud.  Through cleaning.  Through words.  Through leading.  Through numbers.  Through singing the perfect aria.  Through dancing the Tango.  Through so many creative ways.

Through teaching physics.

We can recognize our soul’s desire by listening to our soul.  If we do not follow our soul’s desire we will never be happy.  We may get along and get by, but we will never experience the bliss of self-fulfillment.  We are entitled to live our dreams.  The universe begs us to live our dreams.  If you are fighting and suffering to reach a goal, perhaps you are fighting your own soul.  Perhaps the universe is telling you that the current goal you have will not bring you happiness.  It may bring you temporary pleasure.  A new house, a new car, more money.  But, what are these worth if they do not bring you the joy of being your true self?

Listen for the call of your heart in the voice of your emotions.  Look for the things that bring you back again and again because of the happiness and peace you experience when you do them.  If you are doing something and time flies by you are on the right track.  If you do something and you are excited to start and feel satisfaction when finished you are on the right track.  If it fills you with enthusiasm keep doing it.  Sometimes even our soul’s desire may be hard to continue, it may take longer than you think, but continue.  Don’t despair.  Do it for your sake.

Our goals may change over the years as the activities which brought us happiness in our twenties may evolve into a completely different desire.  As we grow spiritually by following our path our prior pursuits no longer give us the satisfaction and fulfillment they once did.  Listen to the soul as it tells you it’s time to move on to other enterprises.  It’s time to change with your soul.

Feel entitled to the life of your dreams.  Know that the universe is waiting for you to recognize your heart’s desire and help you bring it to fruition.  Think of interests and activites in the past that filled your heart, but that you put aside as impractical or embarassing, the things that someone didn’t approve of or that you thought were childish.  Your dreams are there for a reason, to be manifested.  Allow yourself to follow your heart and pursue your passions.  Be courageous knowing that the universe is waiting to help.

I’m not saying quit your job today and follow your dreams, but take the first steps.  Albert worked as a clerk in his early years, but spent all his free time working on equations using his imagination and intuition.  Doing what he loved.  When you move toward your goal and do what you love, the universe will answer your actions with the help and guidance you require to continue.  Be aware of synchronicities appearing in your life.  See how the universe sends you messages.  And, always, have faith.  Follow your Bliss!   Your dreams are closer than you realize.  And you are entitled to them.  They are your birthright.

You’re entitled to these affirmations:

  • I am entilted to live my dream.
  • I deserve to follow my heart’s desire.
  • The universe conspires with me to reach my goals.
  • My life is filled with enthusiasm and fulfillment.
  • Everything I need to manifest my dreams is brought to me.

Imagine yourself doing something that fills you with happiness.  Start doing it.

I am not going to fight anymore.

” I never worry about the future, it comes soon enough.”     ~Albert Einstein

Of all of the Professsor’s quotes I think this is one of the most important.  It seems so trivial, so trite, but to me it means so much.  It’s about allowing.  It’s about not fighting.  It’s about letting go and allowing the universe to lead us.  If we can allow ourselves to be who we are, which is indistinguishable from the All, then we can allow the All to take us where we are meant to go.

When we fight against something, whether it’s the government, corporations, banks, our emotions, our friends, our feelings, our family, people we work with, if we fight against any thing or situation at all that we don’t want in our lives, then we are giving it energy.  We are feeding a fight.  We are transforming our energy, our love, into a weapon.  As we struggle against this thing we are fueling it and the situation will continue as long as we feed it.  I don’t think these are things we want to feed.

We want to feed joy, peace, and love.  We want to allow the universe, which we know is love, to lead us to a place of happiness.  Happiness is our birthright.  It is the product of love.  Anything that can take our peace away is not real.  The only thing that can take our peace away is forgetting who we are; love.

Unknown

If you truly know that you are not separate from the universe, from love, then you can never be without peace.  Externals will not affect you.  You will be the presence of love.  In this state of being you are untouchable.  If you find yourself feeling “negatives” and while feeling them you accept them as a natural reaction and don’t fight them then you are allowing. You become an observer of these feelings, rather than a participant.  You are being present in your being of love and seeing these things as what they are, manifestations of the ego.

When you are angry at someone, you are not being love, for if you were, you would not judge or condemn them, knowing that you are not separate from them.  They are part of the universe, part of the infinite matrix of love.  All is well in your world when you know this.  You will forgive instantaneously, and eventually see that there is nothing to forgive.  How can you be angry at someone who doesn’t yet know that they are love?  Often we act from a lack of faith.  We don’t believe that the universe loves us, we are too impatient to wait for the result of our beliefs and thoughts.  We feel unloved and abandoned.  In these times it is so important to inspire ourselves and remember times that the universe saved us.  We are here for a reason and the universe will give us everything we need to fulfill our purpose.

images

When you stop worrying about the future and let the universe lead you, you will be allowing all the love and joy to happen spontaneously.  The universe will lead you to your perfect self.  The universe will lead you to places you thought you would never be because of your ego’s limiting beliefs.  Magic will ensue!  Be prepared for the unexpected and relish it.  Be prepared for miracles and embrace them!

There are no limits to how happy you can be when you allow the limitless potential of eternity to take over and guide you!  Eternity is now.  Allowing all possiblities and all experiences into your life will help you realize the wonders of the mysterious.

images-4

Don’t worry about anything, but if you do worry (as we all do), allow yourself that, be gentle on yourself, knowing that the universe sees your nurturing of yourself as an indication of self love and will help you through it.  Give your worries to the universe, or Angels or Jesus or God, or whatever symbol of love and guidance works for you.  Allow them to take your burdens.

Allowing is loving.  Letting go and giving up the fight is loving.  Following the peace works.  Fighting continues the cycle of anxiety and fear.  Let go and let love lead you.  You will be amazed at the wonderful synchronicity of love.

  • Allow yourself the happiness of these affirmations:
  • All that happens in my life is leading me to a place of peace.
  • I allow the universe to guide me, trusting in its love for me.
  • There are no bad emotions.
  • I give up my burdens to love.
  • I allow myself to be lead by love.
  • All is forgotten and forgiven, I am at peace.

Imagine yourself living in a world where all people act from a place of love.
