Stop the Insanity!

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.” -Albert Einstein

Honestly, I thought this was a quote from the 12 step programs, didn’t you?  Who knew?  Unfortunately, it doesn’t apply just to recovering substance abusers.  We can think of ourselves as addicts.  We are addicted to negative thinking, but like so many addicts we are still in denial.  And, of course, the first step is admitting you have a problem.

We all have this problem!  We are all victims of our own negative thinking!  We must admit it.  We must not allow ourselves to create a negative life.  We must start being mindful of our thoughts.  Our thoughts are energy!  Imagination truly makes or breaks our dreams.

Still, it seems ridiculous.  A thought has that much power?   How can a thought determine my life?  Please.

“If at first, the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.” -Albert Einstein

It does sound a little absurd.  Thoughts are things.  Sounds like just another trendy new age phrase.  But, if anyone knew the power of thoughts, it was Albert Einstein.  He knew that our creativity is a thing, not a theory.  He knew that he could get any answer he wanted using his imagination.  He knew that if he put a question out there, if he desired an answer, that the universe would respond with the answer.  He had faith that it would manifest.

“The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery.  There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, the solution comes to you and you don’t know how or why.” -Albert Einstein

This quote introduces the idea that we don’t come up with the answers; the universe does.  When we start to think about the house of our wildest dreams, sometimes we also start to try and figure out ways to attain that goal.  This is what Einstein means by trying to use the intellect to discover an answer.  The intellect has little to do with it.  Use your bongo for imagination, that’s what it’s there for.  Let the universe come up with the solutions.  All you have to do is imagine the house.  Imagine yourself having a family holiday together in the house of your dreams.  See yourself answering the door as your famiy arrives and hear them Oooooh and Ahhhhhh over the incredible living space and the kitchen with its stone counters and stainless appliances.  See everyone around the accomodating dining room table and smile with the joy of having such a fabulous family.  Enjoy the conversations and laughter as you feel immense gratitude for your home and all the love it holds.

Don’t for a moment worry about how it will happen.  That’s the universe’s job.  The universe supplies the hows, whats, whens, and whys.  You need only supply the imagination.

Remember to use all your senses when imagining.  Smell that holiday meal.  Taste it.  Notice the gleam on the hardwood floors and the feel of the sumptuous soft carpets underfoot.  Notice how the diffuse light flatters the cozy furniture arrangements.  Feel the warmth of the fireplace.  Ahhhh, home at last.

Stupendous Affirmations

I am a magnet for wealth.  I need only think of money and the universe provides.

My family (state a person if you want to heal a relationship) and I hold each other in love and respect.

I enjoy my new home.  It has everything I need and desire.  It is a place of comfort and peace.

I am happy, healthy, wealthy, wise, safe, strong, and loved.

I am releasing the old and making room for the new.  Only goodness and love are in my life.  I love what I do and I do what I love!!!

Use these affirmations whenever you can.  Say them out loud with feeling.  It’s like being in the Actor’s Studio!  Remember to visualize.  Cut out pictures of some of your dreams from magazines or print them from the internet and post them around your house.  Make a vision board of all the things you want.  Include pictures and inspirational words!   Feel the joy and it is yours!!!
